A fantastic fantasy that occurred in my dream.

It was kind of like Dota 2. But a little less fun and scarier. Misty foggy atmosphere sheltering a wild beast. One whose eyes can be seen through the clouds. The dream was so messy yet perfectly alluring.

When I woke up, I remembered a tad bits of it. But the environment and the beast stuck in my head. I was having my coffee and only thinking about the possible ways to capture my dream through illustration.

Perfect. That'd be a great way to increase my skill and to preserve a memory. Killing two birds with a stone. Started working on it passionately.

The blurs were kind of making my laptop laggy. It was getting somewhere. I was kind of happy with it.

Next, I wanted to add a tree. It would be a cinematic angle. Only a part of the tree would be visible.

I want to add an archer lady. Better if she is in action. Probably flying (jumping high) while bowing. I had to create the warrior twice. I didn't like the first one and had to redo it.

Adding the knife:

Now for the beast. I drew this not a nicely visible frame of the beast. But it looks dull, so I tried changing the beast and tried to give it a proper shape.

What am I thinking? I can't change the beast! That's one of the core gems of the dream. The eyes through the clouds still gave me thrill.
Redraw the beast for the third time.

Man oh man!! I was loving it.
I drew the beast completely and added texture to the moon and finished the tree and lightings and everything. The final product came out such this:

Since I completed my drawing, I could finally be in peace.
When I started illustrating it, was morning.
As I uploaded this to my deviantartbehancedribble and Instagram, It was night. I was going to sleep.
Let's see if the dream continues from there or I encounter any other magical dream that is worth illustrating down. Time would tell.

Learning Illustration with YouTube: My Journey in Adobe Illustration : 1

So I have been making some logos for a while now. But it's incomplete without learning to make it the proper way. And there comes the Vector Art. Installed Adobe Illustration. Had to go for the cc6 version as my pc runs on win 8.1 and the newer versions require the pc to be on windows 10. (God I hate win 10).  So later I came to the realisation that the cc6 and the older versions are incapable of turning the corners of an object to rounded ones. One must copy the shape, transform it to a rounded cornered one from the drop-down window, use the tool "Slice" and replace the target. If it's going over the head for some people, bear with me, please.  I had to install the newer version cc 17. I think that is the latest update as far as it doesn't ask you to have your windows upgraded to 10 but it comes with a new feature. The 'rounding corner option' introduced from this version turned to be a saviour and let you bypass all the 'to-dos' tasks mentioned e...

"A Hello" - illustration by Dex

Remember what I said in the last blog? The flag with the text created in the last class,  that gave me an idea for my next illustration. So I started with a similar box of colours to create the art I was visioning.             My idea was to wrap the boxes and clone them and place each other upside down to make a 'perspective view'. And then draw a girl and a guy sitting inside the box minding their own business while their pets being social. Might be the start of a Hello.       This was the sketching process. Of course not the initial concept sketch. That one is way too gibberish to understand.             After colouring, it would look better I promise.         After colouring and shading, the task was to create their pets. A furry dog for the lady and a brown bigger doggo for the guy. The concept was kind of like this. Now, to bring them to lively dogs, colour...

Why starting this blog?

" I will learn C-walk. I love that dance" , said me sitting on the couch watching YouTube videos, " I used to dance before anyway so it wouldn't be that hard."  I was hopeful. I even performed some dance-shows in my school-college days. Boy o boy! Well, how wrong was I? My body had now become stiff and the synchronisation between my hands and legs were totally off. Didn't take it long to understand that dancing is not my forte.  That was not the first time I had called off a learning project. If I recall the abortive attempts in my life is countless. Although I am sure I am not the only one, it certainly doesn't help me feel any better.  I have helped several friends and families of mine with adobe photoshops. Starting from the basics, I started to take advanced projects. Watched a ton of YouTube tutorials and they got me interested. Learnt new things every day. Burnt midnight oils. Then there came a time when I was put in a tight corner. Who stays pass...
