Learning Illustration: 6 : The Last Class - Patterns and File Formats

So it was the last class of 'basics of Illustration' from Mr  Dan  presented by  Envato+ . The 3 hours course took me quite a long time to finish. But then I didn't want to hurry at all. I was doing logos, making my Fiverr, Upwork, Behance, dribble etc. Doing digital marketing as well. Even tho I am okay with the pace, I could be more consistent with the classes and could finish it at least a week earlier.  In this last class from Envato+ of the basic of illustrator, we were taught to make Patterns. Patterns are amazing to enhance any artwork by a big margin. Dan made the pattern with the alphabet M. I was going to do with D. So first created the illustration of the alphabet D. Then adding offset path to widen up. Copy a version of the letter and reflect it to give it the look of opposite letters.    Then the magic happened. From the tools at the top, opening the Pattern window and selecting "Make" crates so many options to create a variety of pattern...

Learning Illustration: 3 : Pencil strokes ( Adobe Illustrator )

This blog is going to be super short and precise. I am exhausted. Real-life has ups and downs and then working on my youtube channel and the drawing Insta page . Lots to do, so less time. Anywho, the next day of the class from  Envato Tuts+ , we were taught in-depth stuff about the strokes. Strokes of Pencil to be exact. But the strokes would work the same way for every other tool.  Loved making the strokes with my Huion tablet. The knowledge our teacher Mr. Dan was giving on the strokes were vital.  Looks super neat right? This opens up the door for making lots of cool posters and web prints. While we were taught to use different brush tools and opening up other brush presets with different stroke patterns, in the next one he taught us to manipulate stroke gaps and create dash and dotted lines. Super cool. Let me show the product: That summed up the class. For the homework, we were given two photos. "Use your imagination and draw the strokes as you please", Mr Dan...

Why starting this blog?

" I will learn C-walk. I love that dance" , said me sitting on the couch watching YouTube videos, " I used to dance before anyway so it wouldn't be that hard."  I was hopeful. I even performed some dance-shows in my school-college days. Boy o boy! Well, how wrong was I? My body had now become stiff and the synchronisation between my hands and legs were totally off. Didn't take it long to understand that dancing is not my forte.  That was not the first time I had called off a learning project. If I recall the abortive attempts in my life is countless. Although I am sure I am not the only one, it certainly doesn't help me feel any better.  I have helped several friends and families of mine with adobe photoshops. Starting from the basics, I started to take advanced projects. Watched a ton of YouTube tutorials and they got me interested. Learnt new things every day. Burnt midnight oils. Then there came a time when I was put in a tight corner. Who stays pass...
